Q: Will a contract be provided?

A: Yes, a contract which contains payment details, location, times, etc. is mailed once the booking has been confirmed and/or the deposit has been received.

Q: Will musicians come to rehearsals?

A: While details are typically coordinated solely by phone and/or email, musicians can come to rehearsals for an extra fee if schedules allow and the rehearsal location is not too far (mileage rates may apply). If preferred, one musician from our string quartet can attend as a group representative.

Q: What will the musicians wear?

A: Our string ensemble will wear formal, wedding-appropriate attire in all black or black and white.

Q: When will musicians arrive for an event?

A: The musicians in our classical string quartet will arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of the event (ie: 30 minutes before pre-ceremony music/guest arrival is scheduled to begin for a wedding).

Q: How will musicians know when to change selections during a wedding ceremony?

A: The musicians will need cues from a wedding coordinator (or other reliable person) to know when the various processionals are ready to begin (with applicable music changes). It is also helpful for the group to have a program or ceremony script to follow as well as to know how many people will be included in each processional.

Q: What are the musicians’ qualifications?

A: All members of the Perfect Harmony String Ensemble are professional musicians who have been classically trained at some of the most prestigious programs and universities in the country and are active performers with many local orchestras and ensembles (please see below for group contractor‘s background/qualifications). As one of the highest-rated string ensembles in the country, Perfect Harmony has the talent and expertise to make any event unforgettable!

Q: Can the musicians perform outside?

A: Yes, the group frequently performs outdoors within reasonable, waterproof conditions. If the temperature is below 60 degrees or is hot and humid, a tent (provided by the client/venue) or an alternate provision (such as a covered porch, shaded area, etc.) will need to be available so that the musicians can protect their instruments, maintain tuning, and play comfortably. Perfect Harmony String Ensemble is very flexible with outdoor performance (we know the location is a big part of your special day and pictures!) Instruments project well even outside, and we make every effort to play out for maximum volume. However, a sound system may be used for an additional sound boost if desired. (This is recommended during noisier cocktail hour periods.) Perfect Harmony is pleased to offer a portable, battery-operated, volume-adjustable sound system for indoor or outdoor performance (only available to one client per date, and additional fee applies — please contact a.s.a.p. if interested)!

Q: Can pieces be performed that are not on repertoire lists?

A: Yes, if selections are desired that are not in the ensembles’ current repertoire, they can be performed if

  1. Fully notated music is provided by the client ahead of time for the specific ensemble hired, or
  2. an arrangement can be done for an additional fee.

Perfect Harmony proudly offers one of the largest classical, pop/rock and movie/soundtrack repertoire in the nation (find our full repertoire lists to see for yourself, and check out the rave reviews from our past clientele). Also available EXCLUSIVELY through Perfect Harmony…”Marital Melody” (an original composition written by group contractor Gretchen Heller). Celebrate your special day with the full version (which includes vocal + string quartet) or just the instrumental string quartet version. Song available for CD purchase on SHOP page (also comes with keepsake lyrics).

Q: What will musicians need provided?

A: Armless chairs will need to provided (folding chairs are fine). Everything else (music, stands, etc.) will be taken care of by the wedding quartet.

Q: Can musicians accompany a friend/family member who will sing during the wedding/event?

A: Yes! We often accompany vocalists/other soloists at weddings and will take care of all relevant music details ahead of time. We also arrive earlier than usual to allow time for a run-through on the day of the event. Please proceed to contact form to receive details about pricing, group availability, etc.
